Greetings, dear readers! A new year is upon us, and oh boy, is this looking to be one of the biggest years for film and television in a long time. Some of my most anticipated wide releases this year include:
2.) The Lego Movie 2: The Second Part
3.) Captain Marvel
5.) Avengers: Endgame
6.) Toy Story 4
7.) Godzilla: King of the Monsters
8.) John Wick 3: Parabellum
9.) POKEMON: Detective Pikachu
10.) It: Chapter Two
And those are just some of the big-name movies coming out. Key word: some. There are way too many big-name movies coming out in 2019 to count, and we'll also need to account for some hidden gems that are likely to come up throughout the year.
On top of all those movies, the final season of Game of Thrones is coming to us sometime this April, and that is easily what I am most looking forward to all of this year. It's not just the end to what I consider to be my favorite television show. I am anticipating Game of Thrones' final season to be one of the greatest events in the history of television, despite the fact that there's only going to be six episodes. This leads me to some changes that are coming to this blog as we begin the new year:
For all of 2018, I had given each month a theme, a theme that would reflect a certain genre/group of movies that I would review. I really thought about continuing that idea, but after some consideration, I have decided against that. If you had to ask what sort of resolution I have for this blog, it would be this:
I'm aware that I still have some "projects" that I have been working on ever since I started up this blog in July of 2016: reviewing every single movie that has ever won the Best Picture Oscar, reviewing every single Godzilla movie to ever be released, and most recently, a review of every Game of Thrones episode (up until season 8). Right now, all three of these projects are sort of stuck in the middle, and I apologize that I have been working on these projects lately with the intensity of a snail. Clearly, all three projects need some catch-up work, especially all the Game of Thrones episodes, which I hope to have done by the time season 8 debuts (And oh yes, I will have reviews for those episodes after they air. You can bet your money on that.)
My goal throughout 2019 is to make significant progress on all three projects, so expect more of my future reviews to be dedicated to a Best Picture winner, a Godzilla film, and/or a Game of Thrones episode. Don't worry, I will still make sure to have reviews of new releases.
In terms of reviews that don't fall under any categories mentioned above, I will also take the time to review a lot more recent releases, as opposed to just reaching into the bag of random movies and pulling out whichever one I get.
New reviews will be posted every 2-3 days, as I have usually done. I thank you all for taking the time to read what I bring to you, and for coming back to see what other sarcastic, sassy, or scathing remarks I may have for certain movies and episodes of television. Jankowski's Film Watch has a lot in store for 2019. Hold onto your butts, and prepare for one hell of a roller coaster ride!
Here you'll find my reviews on just about any film you may have seen. I try to avoid major spoilers as much as possible. I structure my reviews in the following way:
